Free antigenic tests in the battle with the pandemic
"As a representative of the Bulgarian Medical Association, I believe that the decision of the Ministry of Health- General Practitioners to have the right to give the patient a test for a quick antigenic test for Covid-19, paid by the NHIF budget, is the right step At the moment. This is also our desire. We are waiting for the public discussion of [the draft Ordinance to supplement Ordinance No. 9 of 2019] (https://www.mh.government.bg/media/filer_public/2022/12 /naredba_9_bat.pdf) d and that will be a fact, "Dr. Nikolay Brunzalov, Deputy Chairman of the BMA, commented on BNR.
As a general practitioner, I want to be able to send him a patient with visible symptoms of Covid-19, and he should not refuse me because the test is at his own expense.
This patient should be tested with an antigenic test, but in a certified laboratory ** and the data from his/her study to enter [the Single Information Portal] (https://coronavirus.bg/).
Only by registering the cases of all patients currently with the Omicron variant the pandemic will be able to be managed on the basis of real statistics , said Dr. Brunzalov. According to him, people are currently at home and have no obligation to announce the result of their test.
"And in order to change the measures, since we are not in an extraordinary setting, we need to have the right statistics as it was before," he said.
Dr. Brunzalov also commented that panic should not be inspired because the Omicron variant is slightly , which is especially true with vacated and overwhelmed patients. He appeals those who have chronic illnesses, in the risk groups and in the elderly, to put a second booster dose .
"The hospital system is not loaded with patients with Covid-19. Yes, there is an influx in GPs, but I say again-the disease is much lighter. There are mothers with children who are positive and they are worried and immediately They want to hospitalize them, but they should not be scared so much, "said Dr. Brunzalov to BNR.
