BLS expresses condolences to the family, relatives and colleagues of Prof. Dr. Dimitar Ivanov Chetrafilov

Bulgarian medical union expresses its deep condolences to the family, colleagues and relatives of Prof. Dr. Dimitar Ivanov Chetrafilov.

At the age of 88, we left the first specialist with a diploma in children's surgery in Bulgaria.

Prof. Chetrafilov was born on May 27, 1932 in the Izmir River, Turkey. He graduated from Medicine with the Third Ministry of Mark-Plovdiv. In 1959-1962, he was a clinical obsession in the Department of Hospital Surgery of Jesul. In 1962-1964 he was an ordinator and temporarily performing the functions of a host surgical compartment to the Regional Hospital in Pazardzhik.

In 1964-1967 he worked as a child surgery assistant and brought the ward for newborns and infants to the established Department of Children's Surgery at the Pirogov Institute. Meanwhile, it receives two specialties - in surgery and children's surgery.

He was then sent to Kavarna as a head of a surgical compartment. Protects a candidate dissertation on "Diagnostics and surgical treatment of the innate gastrointestinal failure in the newborn age of 0-3 months. From 1969 to 1971, he reverberates the surgical compartment of the newborn to the Department of Children's surgery.

In 1971 he was sent for a head of a surgical compartment in Targovishte, where he worked for 12 years. The compartment was transformed into a common surgery clinic after his assignor (1975). The scientific degree "Doctor of Medical Sciences" was awarded in 1984 for dissertation "clinical-diagnostic and healing problems of intestinal imprisonment in different human ages".

In 1985 he was appointed a temporary manager of the newly established emergency surgery clinic related to the reconciliation of part of the Pirogov Institute at II of Ma (former Jesul). He heads the unit until 1987, and then passes to work at the Institute for the Treatment of Foreign Citizens, later merged with a Regional Hospital and renamed the Hospital "St. Anna", where he was head of the general surgery clinic.
