BLS paid tribute to the died doctors and sisters in performing his official debt

On the eve on August 15th - the day of salvation, in front of the monument of the medical chests who died in the wars, wreathed the Secretary General of the BLS Dr. Stoyan Borisov and the Deputy Chairman of the Prof. Nikolay Brunzalov.

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Health Dr. Toma Tomov, Moma's leadership, representatives of MA, BRC, BAPZ, military, doctors and citizens.

For the second year, the day of salvation passes under the Covid-19 sign - the infection, which took the life of over 120 medics, which last helped sick of the new coronavirus, but lost the battle for their own life.

With one-minute silence and wailing of the sirens of ambulances, the memory of all doctors, nurses, policemen, volunteers and citizens died in saving human life.

The day of salvation was established in 2005 at the initiative of Dr. Totko Naydenov, editor-in-chief of the Bulgarian Doctor, with the support of the BMA, MMA and the assistance of MH, BRC and trade unions. On this day, we also honor the memory of the 26-year-old doctor of the Veliko Tarnovo, Dr. Stefan Cherkezov, who saved 47 people from a blazing bus and perished from his severe burns in 1963.

Since 20 December 2012, the celebration of August 15 as a day of salvation was formalized by a decision of the Council of Ministers. Thus, Bulgaria became the only country in the EU and the world that statescent noted the memory of its compatriots who died in the saving of people in peacetime.
