Dr. Ivan Madjarov: By mid-November we expect to sign a common methodology with the NHIF
Our health system is subjected to unprecedented pressure. If the incidence of COVID-19 does not go down, there will be no place to take severe patients in need of intensive care. Against the backdrop of public moods, political relationships and mistrust of authority, however, the only possible measures for the country have been taken.
This was told in front of Radio Sofia Dr. Ivan Madjarov, chairman of Bulgarian Medical Union.
It's time for everyone to think, to understand that not always medicine can help. The pre-election political contradictions contribute further uncertainty. Society is divided with regard to the pandemic crisis and what needs to be taken. Time to understand that it is best everybody to help, Dr. Madjarov added.
He explained that the ruling billion budget of the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) should not consider professional organizations such as a pebble in the shoe such as annoying detail.
"Therefore, at a special press conference, we said we were not happy with the way she communicated with us. I think by the end of next week we will be able to sign a common methodology - the result of talks with the NHIF Supervisory Board. There are also meetings for how it will be funded next year, "Dr. Madjarov added.
