"It is undisputed that medicine is a science in which achievements are collective and the topic to which today's conference is dedicated is a prime example of this. The truth is that if there is no collaboration and a close relationship between several specialties - neonatologists, pediatric ophthalmologists, pediatricians , anesthesiologists, etc. Timely diagnosis and treatment of this socio-significant disease, which often leads to disability, will not be successful, "said Dr. Ivan Madjarov at the opening of the forum, adding that a conference would be another example of a joint Working, sharing knowledge and experience and will contribute to the treatment of young patients who are born premature.
The President of the BMA commented that we have witnessed in recent years, just that - the successes in one area to lead to the emergence of problems in another. "In this case, increasingly younger children are able to save, and this leads to an increase in cases with the diagnosis of retinopathy of the premature. However, this does not prevent us from believing that we will do better," said Dr. Madjarov.
The Forum "Retinopathy of Prematurity-For the Future of Our Preterm Children", one of the most offended and socially significant issues of pediatric ophthalmology and neonatology raises its focus. Within the conference, leading doctors from Bulgaria and prominent international specialists will exchange experience in modern diagnostics and therapeutic opportunities for retinopathy in premature children. The symposium is organized by the Bulgarian Society of Pediatric Ophthalmology, Neuroophthalmology and Ophthalmogenetics-"Retinopathy of Prematurity-for the future of our premature children" and is held under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mr. Rumen Radev, in partnership with the Bulgarian Medical Association and Sofia Municipality.
