The day of salvation was established in 2005. At the proposal of the editor-in-chief of the Bulgarian Doctor, Dr. Totko Naydenov, with the support of the BMA, MH, MMA, BRC and the unions, in honor and memory of the 26-year-old doctor of the 26-year-old physician The Veliko Turnovo village of Sagittarius, Dr. Stefan Cherkezov, who on that date in 1963 saved 47 people from a blazing bus and died from his severe burns.
