The three golden hippocrats see their future in Bulgaria

The three excellence of this year's classification of His - Sofia and the Golden Hippocrates Prize Dr. Laura Petrova, Dr. Vladimir Yordanov and Dr. Tsvetan Tonchev want to be successful in the profession and see their future as doctors in Bulgaria. This became clear from their words before the BNT.

"Unfortunately, it is quite complicated to find a place of specialization, despite the successes we have achieved," said Dr. Laura Petrova. It is interested in internal diseases, in particular to endocrinology, and pediatrics. He believes that "stone weighs in place," does not exclude specialization abroad, but her desire is to stay in their homeland and give health of her future patients here.

Dr. Vladimir Yordanov also has an interest in internal diseases, but he already looks at specialization abroad - he has been an internship in Switzerland and will seek a place for specialization in hospitals there, but his attitude is to return to Bulgaria.

Dr. Tsvetan Tonchev has chosen to become an obstetric-gynecologist because it is the specialty that helps in coming the new life. He believes that there is medicine at European level in Bulgaria and it motivates him to seek realization here.

"For sure things abroad do not start so pink as we all imagine, watching good examples, our country goes for better," he says.

"Wherever he works in the West, he would never feel at home, there is always a foreigner," said Dr. Petrova.

The pandemic and the three has been a challenge, but ultimately challenges are overcome, young doctors say.

In their words, their training has really suffered, even the online exercises have not been fully conducted, the exams have been written, and this has lowered the criteria, but the pandemic according to it already goes, and they are a lot of labor and perseverance to become good doctors.

Dr. Yordanov recalled the months in which he was a volunteer in an infectious hospital, the work was 24-hour and could not sit even for a minute in the busiest days.

"It is true that our preparation is more theoretical, but when you have high goals in the profession, you can achieve them, and successfully completed education is a good start," said Dr. Petrova, who wishes inspiration on the way ahead.

"To have a job satisfaction to make it into pleasure, be a good professional, but also a man because in our profession is very important to be people," he wishes Dr. Tonchev.

Dr. Yordanov's desire is to specialize successfully and find the balance between work and family.
